Takaka Hill Fun by Evelyn

In 1884 Harwood fell into a sinkhole and found the Ngarua cave.

On the 17th July 2015, Janet, Tigger, Katherine, Evelyn and Arthur went to Takaka Hill as a present to Arthur.
wandering around on the hill
At 9:00 we drove to Takaka Hill to see the caves. Before we went into the cave we had morning tea.
We had to put hard hats on. We went into the cave. Near the end we got to touch stalagmites and stalactites.
we saw a lot of stalactites

I liked it, I recommend it to you. See this website for more information.

we found a ride on moa!

Contrasts of Kina

The Kina Peninsula, where my parents live, between Nelson and Motueka at the north end of New Zealand's South Island really is a pretty nice spot.

I took these two photos on a recent early morning walk, about 10 minutes apart, looking in opposite directions...
Looking North-east across Tasman Bay toward French Pass.

Looking South-west with the Kina Peninsula in the foreground and Mount Arthur in the distance.

Having a smashing time in NZ

Damn it is cold though!

I'd forgotten all the simple pleasures a frozen puddle can bring...

Puddle found around mid day on a forestry track near my parents home near Nelson.
