We left Beauty Point (Tamar River) at 0230 this morning to sail the 77 miles to Cape Barren Is. We've joined a Tamar Yacht Club Easter cruise so we have 5 other boats around us. Currently the closest boat is about 3 miles away.
We motored out past Low Head in about 5 knots of southerly. At 0600 it increased to 10-12 knots and we have been having a delightful sail ever since.
We expect to reach Cape Barren Is about 1500 and the tentative plan is to anchor in Thunder and Lightning Bay - sounds promising!
